Checklist for New Admits

By May 1st, you need to . . .
Pay the $135 Confirmation Fee to the Office of Admissions to secure your place! If you need to defer this fee, you can call Admissions at (612) 625-2008.

Take the General College Student Inventory online.

Take the Math Placement Test online.

Send your ACT (or SAT) results to the Office of Admissions, if you haven't done so already.

Other important things to do:

Read all the information that the University sends to you. It's a lot of material, but it will help you prepare for university life. Keep it all in one place.

Send transcripts of any college-level work you have done, and scores on AP exams, to: Office of Admissions and Records, 240 Williamson Hall, 231 Pillsbury Drive S.E., Minneapolis, MN 55455-0213

Make sure all your Financial Aid information is complete and turned in early! Phone: (612) 624-1111 or toll-free 1-800-400-8636.

If you have a disability condition (physical/mobility, sensory, systemic, learning, psychiatric, speech, or acquired brain injury), contact Disability Services (DS) at (612) 626-1333 to register with the office.

Start making arrangements to get to orientation. For example, get your transportation lined up or request disability-related accommodations by calling New Student Programs at (612) 624-0666. Do not have any other commitments for those days.

See if your parents want to come for Parents Orientation. (If they do, they will be with you for only a short part of the day on Day 1.) Make sure they sign up in advance if they want to come.
